Preparation and Disclosure of Crime Statistics

Pierce College Campus Safety prepares the Annual Security Report to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act.

The procedures for preparing the annual disclosure of crime statistics include reporting statistics to the College community obtained from the following sources: Pierce College Campus Safety, the Puyallup Police Department, the Lakewood Police Department, the Joint-Base Lewis-McChord Provost Marshal’s Office, and non-police officials. For statistical purposes, crime statistics reported to any of these sources are recorded in the calendar year the crime was reported. A written request for statistical information is made on an annual basis to all Campus Security Authorities, as defined by federal law.

All of the statistics are gathered, compiled and reported to the College community via the Annual Security Report, the Daily Crime Log, the Student Newspapers and the Campus Safety website.

Each year, an email notification is made to all enrolled students, faculty and staff, which provides the website to access this report. Prospective students, as well as the general public, may also obtain copies of the report. The Annual Security Reports may be obtained by downloading the copies on this webpage, picked up at the Campus Safety office at each campus, or by calling the Campus Safety phone number listed for each campus.
