First-Year Faculty Cohort

The First-Year Faculty Cohort is a unique professional development experience available to support full-time faculty in their first year of the tenure process. This year-long community of practice draws upon peer learning and sharing to enhance the skills of new faculty. Topics include student learning assessment, academic advising/mentoring, shared governance, student engagement strategies, transfer and workforce partnerships, and contribution to community.

First-year faculty participate in cohort activities once a month. The video below provides an overview of the program and highlights how participants feel about the strong community and support they experience as members of the cohort.
